Over Polis
Polis is een open source participatieplatform voor het verkrijgen van inzicht in standpunten bij complexe onderwerpen.
Waarvoor wordt Polis ingezet?
Polis wordt vaak ingezet in het begin van een participatie proces om te peilen welke onderwerpen er spelen onder de burgers. Zo kan je te weten komen over welke stellingen de burgers het eens zijn en hoe die groepen samen gesteld zijn. De stellingen met een hoog consensus gehalte kunnen de basis speerpunten vormen voor het participatie proces.
Het beroemdste voorbeeld van zo’n consensus proces is het Crowdsourcing van regelgeving rondom de taxi service UberX door vTaiwan

The 84 citizen members of Austria’s National Climate Council where in pursuit of their task to answer “What do we have to do today in order to live in a climate-friendly future tomorrow?”. The assembly used Polis to get feedback from the rest of Austria's citizens on their draft recommendations.

To support the most informed vote possible, a team of 13, including engineers, communications professionals, and data science faculty and staff at Uruguay’s National University set up Polis alongside the referendum to look for deeper understanding than “yes or no.” 16,499 people participated by commenting and casting over 295,557 votes.
